There is no exception to the rule that every rule has an exception.

James Thurber

I’ve written a few posts with general thoughts about life, so I thought it was important to get this idea out there. There is no general life lesson that fits everyone under every circumstance. If I ever write something that sounds like I mean it should apply to everyone under every circumstance, I don’t mean that.

You shouldn’t always fail at the bottom. If you have five business ideas, you shouldn’t start all of them at the same time, because starting five companies at the same time would be stupid. Meanwhile, I’m sure there’s an exception out in the world where someone started five businesses at the same time and was successful.

So, if you’re reading a post and think that even though it’s true in general, it can’t possibly apply to you because you’re in an exceptional situation, you’re probably right.
